2011 Australian Cricket Playing Tour
The English Crusaders X1 was established in 2002 to give English players a chance of a cricketing lifetime and play cricket in Australia.
After 2 successful tours, the English Crusaders committee are pleased to offer this unique tour again to coincide with the Ashes in Australia during England’s 2010/2011 campaign.
Players and officials from around the United Kingdom are urged to apply for this tour which will last for 21 days, take in some breathtaking sightseeing and play 10 games of cricket against Australian Country cricket sides along the east coast of Australia.
The tour will include:
· Playing and formal uniform of cap, polo, formal shirt, playing shirt and training shorts
· All cricket gear and protective equipment (can bring own bat and gloves)
· Large coach and driver for 21 days
· Accommodation and breakfast for 21 days
· Internal flights to Brisbane, Cairns and Melbourne
· New Year’s Eve celebrations in Sydney
· Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb
· Sydney Harbour Cruise
· 2 days at the Ashes ‘England V Australia’ at the Sydney Cricket Ground
· Visit Sea World, Movie World and Wet and Wild
· Visit The Great Barrier Reef including a snorkelling, lunch, day tour
· Great Ocean Road bus tour including the famous Twelve Apostles
· 10 games of cricket V Aussie sides including a Day / Night fixture at Barooga Recreation Reserve
· Lunches and BBQ dinners at each cricketing venue (10)
Itinerary:
London to Sydney:
6 days in Sydney including 2 days of the Ashes at the S.C.G., 2 games of cricket representing the English Crusaders X1, Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb, Sydney Harbour Lunch Cruise, New Year’s Eve celebrations at Circular Quay.
Sydney to Brisbane:
6 days in Brisbane including Sea World, Wet and Wild and Movie World passes, 4 games of cricket representing the English Crusaders X1, visit Surfers Paradise and the famous Gold Coast region.
Brisbane to Cairns:
4 days including a Great Barrier reef snorkelling and lunch tour, visit Tropical Hinterland, 1 game of cricket representing the English Crusaders X1
Cairns to Melbourne:
5 days including Great Ocean Road tour, 3 games of cricket representing the English Crusaders X1 including a Day / Night game at Barooga. Presentation Dinner and Fancy Dress Ball.
As this tour will fill up fairly quickly we will need bookings to be made early in 2010.
The accommodation will be 4 star style and each prospective English Crusader will share a room in a ‘twin style’ set up. A single supplement is available, but at the expense of the tourer.
International Flights have not been included in the price, but we can help you booking your flights.
At this stage it is hoped that all English Crusaders can meet in Sydney for the New Year’s Eve celebrations at Circular Quay designating the start of the tour.
